Any advice on getting a gold watchband repaired?

I got a really nice watch from my dad that needs a little work on the band. There is a little cover piece missing from the band and I need it lengthened to fit my wrist comfortably.

Any advice would be appreciated. I prefer not to take it somewhere that just sends it out.

what company? how old is it? do you have the links to lengthen it? my dad does that kinda work as a hobby. he's got certifications and is a member of some associations or something.

I dated a woman who's family ownes a nice jewelry store. What area? They have one in Northville and Garden City.

I have an uncle in-law that works at Lew Silver Diamond brokers on 9 mile and Greenfield. They fix all of my family's and friends jewelry, watches, bracelets, etc. ask for Steve Lumetta and let him know I sent you.
