2005 Mustang GT, clean. Shaker, Leather, manual. 27,000 miles. Title shows not actual, carfax comes back with not actual but the miles add up and make sense from all the registrations. Title is clear, not salvage or rebuilt but was in a light accident with a tree on the right rear. Fixed well. Can get it for $12,000. Would be a DD for 3 years or so.

without seeing the carfax and given the information you've provided, I would assume the true mileage unknown came from the car being in the accident and insurance totaled the car out. When the car was sold at auction they make no efforts to try and get the odometer working (even if its something very minor) and therefore the car has to be sold true mileage unknown. If the carfax report shows the accident and the next title shows true mileage unknown this is likely the case. Dealer or private seller?
