Someone buy it... 1950 Coldspot sold by Sears & Roebuck. Thanks Dr. Teeth for the hookup, and MichaelB. for doing for such killer paint for my junk once again. This one needed a little more attention. It has a new reproduction door seal, a retrofitted newer door switch for the light, a few new wires to replace dryrotted originals(including new power cord), and a set of casters to make moving it around MUCH easier. This thing gets COLD! I still am waiting for 2 new tempered glass shelves, and Mike still needs to finish painting the small trim cover for the door handle.

It does look great Joe is that left over paint from the car?

Thanks! It isn't left over paint, but it was intended to match the car. It's almost a "test pattern" to see if the silver flames work well on that shade of blue.

Well....for what it's worth, i think the flames would look perfect against the blue.....

Paint the car like a Blue Light Platinum bottle and see if they will sponsor you!

Holy shit, nice job there! That thing sat in that same spot in their basement for at least 25 years. I'm going to grab and email those pics to my folks! I'm sure they're glad it's going to good use.

Well done!

Just out of morbid curiosity, what would you ask if you sold that? (and no, I don't want it, but just curious. I watch that American Restoration show on TDC and wondered....)

BL Platinum is a fad, I think the stuff is swill personally but it does have a cool looking bottle. I'd be happy to bring another sponsor aboard other than VISA though! :deal:

Came out awesome!

also interested in what this thing is valued at.. I have the same exact one in my basement in perfect working condition that i planned on having my buddy paint for me.

Wow! Your making me want to take my grandmothers old fridge out of her basement. Looks to be about the same vintage. Great job!

Thanks guys! I am by NO means any kind of antique appliance expert, I just thought this would be a cool way to do some "car culture" type crap over the winter. I also don't believe all the inflated prices you see on "auction hunters" and the like, but these may have a bit of value to the right buyer. I can say from experience now, that it's easy to find these old fridges priced from free to $300 depending on condition/model, and you'll easily have upwards of $400 in good paint supplies(not counting labor if involved, which could be $200-$500), a new door seal can be $90 with shipping, plus any other repairs and time invested. Don't kid yourself thinking it's a gold mine, but I would think I could retail this one in the $1200-$1500 range to the right guy, given the quality of paint and money invested.

Hardly worth all the effort, and I thought from the start that I'd better do it the way I like(hence the matching color of my car) since there is a very good chance I'll own it awhile. Makes for some cool and functional garage art though! :chug:

Cuurent situation doesn't allow much playing this year. Need to pay the bills. I'll just come and watch you guys have fun. Just my opinion - the car looks great just the way it is.
