Ann Arbor area apartments

My son just started working for UM on campus. He is looking for an apartment in AA or Ypsi. He can probably budget around $800 or less including utilities. So far he's interested in Southport Apts, Country Meadows, the Red Lion. Thanks for any suggestion and input.

I'll ask a coworker when i see him tomorrow who was born/raised in Ypsi, Dad was the head basketball coach for Eastern back in the day and wife works at UofM also, he knows the area well and won't "filter" his response..

He is going to look at Red Lion, Country Meadows, and Southport. Are any of those three in a ghetto?

I lived in Village Green Apts in Belleville (south side of 94, west of Belleville Rd) about 18 years ago. That area was fine back then. I used to wash my car at a place west of there into Ypsi and it got sketchier as you went west.

Check out McKinley and Barnes and Barnes which has apartments all over Ypsi.

Belleville apartments are in a good spot. Being right off of 94 you can be in A2 or Detroit in 20-30 minutes but they're far enough away from the riffraff of Ypsi.
