Android phone suggestions? Verizon

I have the Droid X and love it.

From what I can tell, the Android phones are for more technical people and the iPhones are for casual users. Not to say the iPhone isn't a technical person's phone. But when my mom can figure out an iPhone, it really says a lot about how simple it is.

The Android phones are really nice and you can do A LOT of customizing with them. If you were to put my phone next to a standard Android phone, you would think they were two different operating systems installed. It's pretty awesome. I love it.

I would wait and try out some of the new phones coming out like the Droid Razor and HTC Rezound

Razor is really thin. .26 inches and 5 inches tall.

The HTC Rezound is a little thicker .54 inches and 5 inches tall, but it has the best hardware on the market. It has the best display out there and the fastest processor available in any phone. (by best on the market, I mean better then even the iPhone 4S). This phone comes out November 14th.

If I were you, I would just go to the Verizon store after November 14th and try all these phones out.

Droid Razor
HTC Rezound
iPhone 4S
Galaxy Nexus

See what screen you like the best and what feels the best in your hand and pocket. I personally would probably go with the Galaxy Nexus.

Droid 2 was a POS. I like my Droid X and will be upgrading to a Galaxy Nexus the day that it's released.

Had the first Droid and the X. Both were good phones. I just recently switched to the iPhone and I like it so far.

What he said. Though my mom figured out an iPhone and then switched to a droid and figured that out, so even a droid isn't always for a technical person. Just the open source nature of a Droid makes it a better phone for someone who likes to set things up the way they want.

What exactly are people changing in the source code to make things how they want?

Once you root it there are a ridiculous number of ROMs out there that can be installed. My phone was acting up so I said fuck it and rooted it and was quickly overwelmed when I went to get a rOM and saw how many options I had.

How do you do this? The software on this phone now is all wacked out.

I've had the HTC incredible and incredible 2 now and have had good luck with both phones. Just keep in mind that rooting a Verizon phone voids the Warranty on the phone.

I might be switching back over to Sprint and could sell you a basically brand new Incredible 2.
