Android ---> Iphone, whos done it?

Alright, I can get the S3 and Iphone5 for the same price through VZW. Never personally owned anything Mac, gf has ipad and macbook, don't mind the software, but been a Android guy for YEARS. Thinking I want to try something different, and see how it goes.

Who's done the switch, liked it, hated it, what do you miss, new stuff, ect.

Not looking to compare phones, I like the specs on the s3 better, but willing to skip those in order to give the i5 a try.
 
I had android went to iphone 4s it was ok its a simple phone for sure seems to lack in features though, I just got the s3 last week and love it.
 
You'll hate it eventually, its really locked down. I was on iphone for 4 versions, and just switched the gs3, omg its so much better on android. I'll never go back.
 
Went iPhone to android (3 months) then back to iPhone.

I use my phone for:
Calls
Txt
Browse Internet
Watch movies

iPhone does all those exceptionally well with zero issues, incredible battery life and is indestructible in the construction environment I work in.

Evo htc 4 something, I broke the srcreen in the 1st month of owning it.

What else does a phone need to do?

Oh yea, the iPhone fits in my pocket!

If you sit at a desk all day, the s3 is probably fine.

I couldn't care less about animated screens, it's off in my pocket and when I'm using the phone, it's against my ear, in a txt screen, on Motown or watching The Dictator. I can't see how a animated home screen will make my usage of the phone OUTSTANDING AND AMAZING.
 
I had the 4s when it came out, I switched to Android and I do not care for it.
I feel that the iphone/ipod is much easier to use.
Things like the size of the keys for texting, etc, basic stuff.
I am going to switch back to the iphone 5 this weekend or soon.
There is another post I made about iphone 5 on the forum as well, check it for a lot of good info.

I will say I never had a problem with the iphone at all but the phone was a lil small for my sasquatch hands lol, also the s3 fits in my pockets but mine arent filled with big money like yours lol
 
I went from android to iPhone and like it better. I only have the 4s, but I'll be upgrading next year to the 5.

They are both good devices. Basically it comes down to what kind of user you are. If you're wanting a device that does what it's supposed to out of the box with no customization and is pretty dumbed down, the iPhone is a great device. That's not to say you can't do that with the S3, but with the S3 is much more customization and features. So if you're the type who likes to tinker or have a personalized look to your phone, the S3 is the obvious choice.
 
I don't 'tinker' with my Android phone and I still like it better than the iPhone it replaced. My girlfriend and I did a side by side comparison with my Galaxy S2 & her iPhone 4s (same provider) and the S2 was faster with internet access, map functions, etc. Call quality seems to be a wash and the 4s camera sucks big time in comparison to the S2.

And the S2 fits in my pocket...because I'm not 12 years old, nor do I wear skinny jeans.
 
went from a droid bionic ( best out when I got it ) to a iphone 4S ( best out ) then went back to a droid razr maxx, basically I missed 4g a lot and having root access. If you want to play with the phone at all and change up stuff and root it, stick with a nice android phone. If you just want something basic and stable go with the iphone5
 
Went from long time iPhone user to Android to get more tinker toys. Honey moon period ended and reality set in, 2 1/2 months later, I went out and bought an iPhone 5 again.
 
I had an iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, went to the HTC Inspire 4G running Android 2.whatever in February of 2011.... and left them both behind for Windows Phone 7, and now I'm onto the Windows Phone 8. I'll never go back to either ecosystem.
 
Honestly, Windows phone is the best on the market, the app market just isn't there yet for it.

Agreed, but, I don't find it to be that big of a deal. Aside from a few key apps, I don't even really notice the lack of them. The games ecosystem is definitely better for my tastes. Xbox Live achievements while taking a shit at work.... iPhone and Android can't do that!
 
I went Android, iPhone4, Windows Phone, Android, and back to iPhone5. I'm sticking with the iPhones. I had a Galaxy S3 for 4 months before going to the iPhone 5. It was the absolute worst phone when it came to placing calls. I continually dropped calls with that phone, even when service was full. Actually, I dropped more calls with that phone in 1 week, than all the other phones I've ever had combined... That's a shit ton of phones.
 
I have Android now, but am in the market for a IPhone 4 or 4S. I don't mess with the phone enough to really care. The IPhone will do enough for me.

Has anyone with an iphone daily drove a Nexus device ? Its very different than a touchwiz(samsung) , or a sense(Htc) , or a motoblur ( Motorola) overlaid device. The manufacture UI and the carrier bloatware is what gives android a bad name. Pure google android is as smooth and glitch free as any IOS version.
I bought my Nexus directly from the google play store and i coulnt be happier. Apple stuff works but I don't like their price point or their business model. Even these 199 dollar phones you are still paying 600 dollars since it is subsidized.
 
I went Android to iPhone, haven't looked back. Best way I can describe it is just like the PC market; 8 million people making hardware trying to fit software rather than one company making both.
