I have a Kenwood 921 amp I'd like to sell but have no idea what it's worth. Does anyone use/buy the old car audio stuff?

If you had a 921 back in the day you were the man lol. I had two 1021's in a suburban. I'm pretty sure that's why I can't hear for shit now lol.

Those used to be the whip!!! A 921 Kenwood running a couple 12" Cerwin Vega subs. Add Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby and you were man!! Anyone remember when 96.3 played that for 24 hours straight in the early 90's? I was cruising Gratiot that night in my white GTA Trans Am. My old-ass amps were hot that night! LOL

NO body believes me when I tell them that a radio station played Ice Ice Baby for 24 hours straight. At least I'm not the only one who heard it.

I remember the promo was playing it 96.3 times.

Since we're on a tangent... anyone remember the 99.5 computer voice countdown followed by two weeks of comedy/Dr. Bizzaro programming before the station became young country?

Ken, how do you get clean sound out of those old amps? I have an old Rockford Fosgate Power 300 that I bought back in 88. The thing is unbelievably loud, but it also creates an unbelievable amount of engine noise. I would love to run it in my new Camaro and replace the POS Visteon amp in there. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a ground issue. Always ground it as close to the amp as possible.

New cars are noisy inside , try a short ground like bubba said. If that doesnt work run temporary rcas outside of car

I had it installed in my last 4th gen and it had less than a foot of ground on it to the wheelhouse panel. Could it be that the capacitors are just getting old and not working as well any more? The amp is 30 years old. Can you get the boards re-soldered and all the aged parts replaced?

It just bums me out that it isn't cleaner because every time I try to replace it the replacements fall short. In my 4th gen I had it running a dual voice coil 10" JL W3. I pulled it for a 250 Watt JL Audio Amp that the guy at the store promised me would hit just as hard. It wasn't hitting half as hard as the 150 watts out of the Power 300. Something about that old school power.
