There is talk of Oakland County THINKING of doing a ORV park... Read below...
We have been working with Oakland County on an ORV park development. We met with the county commissioners today and a number was quoted that to me, seems low. The stat is that there is are only about 11,000 ORV's in Oakland County. One of the things that skews this number is that ORV stickers are commonly purchased where they are used. As an example, I usually buy mine at Silver Lake because it's the first place I go each year that needs one. So, that sale gets chalked up to the west side of the state versus here in Oakland County.

I'm trying to figure out a way to get a handle on how many ORV's are located in Oakland County. Does someone want to take on this challenge on behalf of our hobby? Please don't say "you should look here" etc. I need someone to champion a way to accumulate hard numbers that we can defend. Many people say "what can I do to help?" Well, here is a big one. It has to be professional and defendable.

Although we currently have approval to continue to explore the possibility of an ORV park, it was repeated many times that this effort does not justify itself if there are only 11,000 residents who will benefit.

This could be a deal breaker for us.

The land were the one in oxford was supposed to be if for sale or was sold. Not sure where that one is

Did the survey. Even though I don't own a 4x4 at the moment I voted like I do because i'd like to have a nearby place to play should I get one in the future.
The only reason i'm not into four wheeling like I was when I was a kid is because there's nowhere local to go.
Back in the day we had a place at 15/Hayes (now a sub), Dobry and Ryan (now an apt complex), 23/Ryan (now a sub), Parkdale & Dequindre (now a sub) etc.
I love the hobby just don't like travelling too far should something break and don't see any sense in having to own and use a trailer just for a few times a year thing.

filled it out as an oakland resident anyway bc i have friends over there who would use the hell out of it.

ok I have never bought an ORV sticker but... don't you have to show a drivers license? and register your self as owner ?
and show your home address and the state has a record of it ?
so all Oakland county has to do is down load the info from the Secretary of State to know how many residents own an orv
