all rubber and paper gaskets/seals must be alchy compatable, and stainless lines are recommended

IIRC, larger jets are needed, alchy needs more fuel to burn

You will need compatible fuel lines and carberator, plus any gaskets that will come in contact with the alcohol must be compatible. You also need a much higher compression ratio to take advantage of the pontential power of alcohol and its higher octane rating. Most alky engines are in the neighborhood of 14 to 1 or higher. If you maintain a compression ratio of 11 to 1 or lower, all you will do is spend more for fuel and not gain any power. Great potential to make a lot of power on alky, but the motor must be built to take advantage of alcohols properties

Hotrod recently did a story on E85 and they wound up having to change metering block becuase the gasoline passage werent big enough. Might want to look into a complete alky carb. as stated above fuel lines etc must be alky compatiable.

alright. this year i bought the holly hp 4150 950 cfm carb, that u can run either gas or alky. al do have also full ss fuel lines. and my motor is a 12.9 to 1. just wanted to know if i wanna gonna wast my time with carb converions etc or not. how much fatter to i run the a/f also what type of plugs do i run a hotter plug?

Well if thats the case your FP can handle the volume then up the jets about 80% or take your current jet sizes and multiply them by CJS x1.8= Alky baase jetting. this could leave you a touch bt lean but its a hard call as holley jets sizes don't wlays make sense. Also make sure to Get alchol Needle and seat assemblys or the bowls will starve.
