what is the proper way of wiring this gauge up? i have one in my car and it runs to my computer and is spliced in. is this the right way?

they can be wired that way at the pcm, spliced at the 02, or they make 02 pigtails now with a extra wire for the gauge.
this is just a normal air/fuel gauge and not a wideband correct?

just a normal autometer one it was free so thats why i have it. cause when thy tuned my car they pulled it out of the pcm and i went to reconnect it and cant seem to get it connected right without pulling it out.

Autometer AF Narrow Band guages will screw with the O2 readings. The guy who tunned it did the right thing if you are running Closed Loop AF control. If you want a narrow band O2 then put in a 1 wire GM o2 sensor.

no clue what u just said lol

sorry gauges and electrical is not my specialty. lol i now leave that to joe "Duke"

Without a wideband you have a useless item. A narrowband O2 will tell you nothing about anything and make you watch a bouncing needle. I am not saying this to bag on you, but it is the truth of the matter.
Splicing it into the stock O2 signal wire from any point between the the sensor and the PCM/ECM will work fine.

I suggest if you want to be able to find out any real information about the engine though, a wideband, such as an Innovate LC-1 will do you quite well. They can be bought for around $200 on eBay and have out performed or matched the quaility of any other O2 on the market. They are the only true digital sensor and will even come with a bung if your car has a goofy thread pitch.
