ACT in Explorer/GT40 intake manifold

Been doing a bunch of research on various mustang sites regarding where to mount the ACT sensor in my explorer/GT40 intake but wana check with my Motown brothers and sister before i drill and tap.

many people suggest drilling and tapping the #5 intake runner on the lower....thats all fine n dandy if its a thicker 96/97 EGR explorer intake. I have the non-EGR 1999 version which is very thin in that area (amongst other area's).
My question is: can i drill n tap the upper intake on the underside through an existing vaccum port? will i get the same or better reading since it will be a slightly cooler air/temp? I don't see why it would make a difference but any opinions will be appreciated.

BTW this is going on a twin turbo 302 so mounting it in the airbox or in the piping to the throttlebody are not what i'm thinking.

I just plugged mine into the harness and zip tied it to the fuel rail. Ran it that way for a couple seasons with no problems.

Put it in the pipe post cooler. The few degreees you will see between that and the intake will be minimal. So add a bung and put it in the charge tube.

I wanted a clean install so i figured i'd hide it under the upper intake and not have to splice the wiring. Cut the fuel vapor return line off and drilled and tapped it to a 3/8 NPT. worked out good.
