A new project for the spring time.

So, I had about 45minutes to kill between side jobs and an interview. So, I did this.

Started as this...BLAH! Spray paint is for losers! THANKS BILL!!!!! You dumb ass.

To this. About 45min worth of wheeling to get to this point. Its not done yet, as you can see its only half the hood halfway done. But, an improvement none the less. No, wheel marks, hardly any scratches from the dumb ass sanding it before he painted it. The hazy areas are not that bad in person. They are just a thin film of spray paint that is left. And, it will come out easily as you can tell by the really shiny black areas. So, the cab and dog house are the victims on my late nights at work, and when I have time to go into work on Saturdays.

soo if it's spray can i'm sure it's enamel or lacquer so why don't you wipe it with thinner or MEK?

It has gone into the real paint. The only way to fully get it off is to wheel it out. Rather I use thinner then the wheel, or just go right to the wheel its all the same. Maybe thinner on the wheel?

If you wipe it with MEK it will remove the majority of the spray bomb, then either wets sand it lightly with some 1000,1200,1500,2000, then wheel it (depending on what grit the owner used to sand previously) it should restore it's original finish. The only reason i say this is because you'll build up the wheel with the enamel, lacquer then heat it up and smear it, or basically bake it in the sand scratches with the heat from the compound & wool pad

I cleaned the pad very very often, while keeping the heat as low as possible. I was using a mix of compound and a fine polish to keep the pad wet, cool, and extra messy.

Ill try some of this MEK you speak of since I can do that at home. Where can I pick some up?
