A little pre clean up, clean up.

The car is/was pretty clean, especially the interior. It just needed some touch up from sitting.

Brought back the look of the mirrors and cowl trim, and hope to keep them from fading.

thats impressive work... if i ever get off my ass and into the garage maybe mine can look as nice

Spray on Simple Green on a cold engine
Wait 10 minutes.
Turn car on
Spray off Simple Green with a hose while car is running
Let car run for about 5-10 mins
Run errands.
By the time your errands are done your engine bay will be dry of any settled water and it will be sparkling clean.

My engine bay is clean enough to eat off of year round.

Avoid any raw aluminum, unless you like that oxidized acid washed look.

I have yet to see that "acid washed" look on any car I've used that process on.

It happened to one of my friend's Cold Air Intake tubes. I've used Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner (dilution ratio depends on how bad it is), and I think it works very well.

 Simple green is the shit, but for really dirty/grimy engine bays, I have been using an industrial strength degreaser, 70/30ish dilution, and never have any problems.

My method? although i shouldnt share.:secret: Let engine get to temp. Leave running. Completely cover the engine/engine bay with degreaser let sit for ~5 mins (i hit the wheels while im doing this) 3000psi power washer.Throughly rinse engine/bay with all 3k psi. You will watch all kinds of shit come right off. After rinsing, let engine run for 5-10 mins.

Everyone is afraid to get shit wet. When in all reality, especially with newer cars, your not going to hurt a damn thing.

All my engines/bays are always SPOTLESS.
