My cousin's truck is acting up and he is in the middle of a big job pulling up side walks in Hamtramack. Anyone have any advise on what I could look for? Best way to pull code?

Has CEL light and he said it is down on power.

is a ford F450, with the navistar
TIA.

a scan tool is probably the best way, else go to autozone or the dealership....
Seems that the VTG in those would fault, not sure of the reason, a friend had an older one, had a fault and I cleared it, all better, but no reason why it set.

These are all manufacturer specific codes....
Probably when he got one it caused the others if I had to guess.

P11XX Fuel and Air Metering
P12XX Fuel and Air Metering
P13XX Ignition System or Misfire

  • Possible causes:
    • damaged MAP hose
    • low turbo boost
    • intake manifold or crossover tube hose leaks
    • damaged MAP sensor
    • damaged PCM

P1293

Injector high side open, Bank 1

I would start with assuming its water in the fuel. Pull the powerstroke 7.3 emblem cover that covers the fuel bowl. There is a drain valve on the back of the housing with a yellow lever. flip that open to drain the bowl and water if there is any. Probably wouldnt hurt to replace the fuel filter, if it hasnt been done recently. This is probably the only thing your average joe is going to be able to do on the side of the road. If its any of the other problems listed under the DTC's its probably gonna need further inspection/diag at a shop.
