97 Riviera Check Engine Codes and Overheating

So a friend's car is having trouble. It's shut itself off on a few occasions now when at low speeds. Got the codes scanned, they are P0121 TPS and P0108 MAP Sensor. In addition to this, it over heated at least once when it shut off. Starts and drives just fine now though, albeit with the SES light on and occasionally still shuts off.

Any suggestions? I find it hard to believe these two sensors just both gave out at the same time, and there just happens to be overheating mixed in with the group.

check the grounds over by the ignition module. Take the coil and module and bracket off the head, clean everything really well and put it back together. Check the ring terminals and the connections to the harness for corrosion in the wire. Seen a few no starts and Misc codes popup from poor connections there. I could double check the schematics but I am fiarly certain there should be 3 ring terminals over there for the sensors and the ecu.
