97 jimmy MPG

my gas guage is not working on my 97 jimmy so ive been going by miles till i can grab a new fuel pump for it , about how many miles per tank are you guys getting ? also how many MPGs are you getting , my trucks a 4 door so its got the 18gallon tank . trucks a 4x4 also

My 97 Jimmy 4x4 4dr got anywhere from 15-17mpg.

00 Jimmy 4 Dr 4WD 15-20 mpg depending on outside temp and highway vs city

my 97 4 door 4x4 gets 17-18 around here(not really city) and 23 on the highway. 17 towing my boat

Lifted a little with a cracked ex-manifold 12-15.

My sender has been broke since i bought it. i just fill up around 200 miles,works fine for me.I got 272 miles on a full tank before i ran out of gas.lol. no way im buying a fuel pump just to get a new sender. i get 18-20 mpg.

ive noticed on those you can bend the contact to make them work again lol

Try adding a quart of trans fluid to a full tank of gas. The detergents in the trans fluid will clean the sender and it'll work again. If it doesn't work after the first tank try it again.. i've had it work multiple times on various vehicles, most of them being GM products.
