95 Sable/Taurus Climate Control

Anybody know anything about the auto climate control these cars had? My SIL's is driving one right now, and the fan is on full blast when the system is on, an she says it goes a little faster when she tries to shut the entire system off. It does shut off with the key though.

I know damn near zero about these. Stuck relay? Anybody have a service manual for one of these?

I have the online alldata service manual for this body style and it has a troubleshooting by symptom section. I will do what i can.
Any of these symptoms?

Blower motor operates continuously in high speed EATC.. my SIL is dropping the car off tonight for me to look at, but that's what she's described.

Thanks for the alldata hookup, we used to have it here at work, but apparently we don't need it anymore.

As I write this, a coworker pointed me to a Mitchell repair site and it gave me diagnostic tree, now I need to find the component locator.

Here are the test procedures it gave for your symptom.

Thanks

Thanks for the information. None of the tests were 100% conclusive, nothing was over 1V, and I am not sure where the second module is. And it's too freakin cold out there for a GM desk jockey to be fixing a Ford anyway..

I ended up messing with the module. There are 4 wires to it, the hot wire, the lead to the blower and two control wires. ONe control wire works through the auto climate control, and the other works through the manual fan speed control. I pulled the first wire (auto control) so now it at least the fan speed is controlable, and can be shut off.

Murray's has the module for $60, so I told my SIL that we can throw it in and see if it fixes it completely, if it doesn't it's the main control head, and she'll live without the automatic climate control. From what she was saying she had no idea how the auto climate control worked anyway... :icon_roll

Bottom line, the fan is not running WFO all the time, she's happy. Thanks for the help.
