you think you would be able to modify the stock upper control arms and make a frame bracket for an air bag setup on one of these(no company makes anything, and doing it above the upper control arm keeps the 4x4 functional)

here is a way one guy has done it

have any idea on price(just a rough idea is fine)?

it would not be anytime soon, possibly next summer/fall though, I am still trying to get it running right now

the upper arm /balljoint won't take that load for long.
doesn't someone make a kit that replaces the torsion bar keys?

belltech offers keys for a 3" static drop, but thats it, no air ride offerings for the front(rear is the same as a 2wd)

x2... Lower ball joints are bigger for a reason..

One idea that popped into my head is a hydro setup replacing the torsion keys. It does not take a lot of adjustment on the keys (some call them pork chops) to move the ride height around.. Use the PS pump with a couple of open center hydraulic valves. along with a very short stroke 2-3" diameter hydraulic ram one each adjuster would do it. You retain the stock torsion bar and shock....
You might be able to do it with airbags if you add some leverage to the adjuster and take the loads down a bit.

Let me know if when you want to try it, sounds like a fun project.. I gotta crawl under my wifes Tahoe to remember how it's all laid out and what's in the way.
