92 Lincoln Towncar "CO" reading on fuel gauge???

Buddy of mine picked up a mint 92 towncar, crank no fire, pump wasnt coming on, checked the interia switch, swapped pumps, new relay, ended up being a broken wire to the hotside of the relay, unchball. Anyways, all that stuff is mint, it runs/drives PERFECT.But now the digital gas gauge reads CO, and ill I could was it stands for "cut off" and to check resistance at the pump, but before I do that ( which is odd, because its all wiring, etc is perfect now) and it runs flawlessly, but the gauge worked before I swapped pumps.


Any insight would be appreciated and rep given..

Was the fuel pump cut off switch tripped??.....Oh you said you replaced that...(edit)

Maybe something in the wiring, I would imagine that would only come on when the cut out swtich is actualyl tripped, and go off after its been replaced/reset.
