'89 LX 5.0L Part Out

ttt, i went to see this car today, clean car runs strong very nice worth a lot more than what he is asking!!! With a quick paint job this would be a 5k car, unfortunatly my wife didn't like it so all you guys have a deal here for sure!!

R&P are Ford 3.73s. The LS has the Ford logo, but I didn't look for a part number to identify it as FoMoCo or Ford Motorsport (if there is a difference).


The axle shafts have the Ford logo on the wheel flange. They look like the Ford Racing style. I have not pulled the shaft yet to verify spline count. The brake hardware is clean, the drums need to be turned.

The tail lights are in pretty good shape for their age. They have a couple spots of minor overspray from when the car was repainted. The LH red horizontal lens has a hairline crack that starts ~2" from the left edge and ~1/4" from the top and runs ~6". I didn't see any evidence that water got inside the crack at any time. Check it out....

I want to pull a shaft and count splines before I do anything with the rear end. I'll get back to you.

I haven't been able to successfully identify the front struts. They have a blue steel body with black plastic boots. The strut body has P218V and 803 stamped near the top. Overall the struts look like lower mileage units. They don't have the severe chipping a higher mileage unit would have.

FWIW, the rears are Lakewood 40301. They look like they've been around a while. I can't estimate how much life they have left. INfo Link
