hello guys,

i just tried to put some new aluminum valve covers on last night but that failed as they were too thin, and i didnt get new, shorter bolts for them... so i put my old valve covers back on and put my intake back on... start the car everything seems fine. the next morning i try to start my car and it runs incredibly rough, so i adjust the idle screw and it seems fine for the moment. but after driving it (and noticing my oil pressure does not register any more) i park it at work and start it again really quick, only to notice a puff of black smoke come out of the back of my car along with hesitation, then high idling. upon opening the hood i start it again and see that black smoke comes straight out of the engine bay! so i took my intake off again today and looked at the wiring harness for the fuel injectors on the drivers side (thats which side the smoke came out of) and notice that there's two wires that seem to have melted or been burned off. a yellow and a black one. i traced the yellow one to the rear injector on the drivers side, and the black one to a sensor in the lower intake. could this be my problem?

Is it possible you pinched or sliced the wires with your valve cover while doing the swap? Yea- running without an injector (or cylinder for that matter) will definately make your car run like shit. The other wire most likely goes to your oil pressure sending unit.

what i'm gonna say is you pinched those two wires, causing the car to run like shit cause it's missing an injectors, and causing a hole for oil to seep out of causing smoke. not sure on the oil pressure tho, the sending unit for that is the front drivers side and i don't think the wire for that runs along the injectors? not sure tho i haven't had a stock pressure sensor for 2 years now.
