So I've got a trade offer for my bike that I'm asking 7500. The car is as follows...
1985 mercury Capri
Weld wheels
4.10 rear with locker
Fresh 347 stroker 10.5:1
Eagle rotating assembly with wiseco pistons
Edelbrock aluminum heads
1.6 roller rockers
Trick flow stage 3 cam ~.550” lift
Parker funnel web intake
Proform 750 carb
Canton 7 qt pan
2 complete fuel systems with all braided lines and AN fittings and holley pumps with sumped tank and separate aluminum cell for nitrous
2 complete nitrous systems
PA C4 trans with cheetah shifter
Tci 9 inch converter with inertia
ring and anti balloon plates
Autometer gauges
Msd ignition and distributor/coil
Chassis has no rust, mint floor pans

I'm not really a mustang guy by any means. I know a little and this car seems kinda cool but I don't want to short myself.

You couldnt build that drivetrain from scratch for $7500. If the car is not rusty and it has decent interior i would say its worth $7500.

Really depends on the car more than the engine. If the car is clean (big if, they're usually all rotten) it may be worth $5k, but probably closer to $4k to be perfectly honest. Hoping its an RS, or at least GS. If the car is mint and original other than the engine it may bring $7500 to the right buyer.

it better be spotless.. And I don't know what the market is like for those cars if you plan to re sell. Im picturing a $4,000 car. Sure you can't build that setup for $7,000 from scratch like mentioned, but that doesnt meant it would be worth that much.

agreed. For that price it would need very nice original paint with no issues. Theyre worth a tad less than a equal mustang....they are a little more "rare" if you wanna use that word but not quite as sought after. The exception being a motorsport pace car

I think the price is very good if the car is clean.

A 347 (8.2 deck) with two kits on it will break a stock block pretty easy though.....so if you get it, don't get carried away :)

I think I'm gonna hold off. From what I'm gathering if I got this car and wanted to resell, it would be just as hard as selling this bike at this price.

Good call, only worth it if you want the car for yourself, would be tough to sell for sure. Also, a bike is much easier to store than a car, lol.
