car runs like shit some header pipes glow cherry red its stock block and heads elderbrock cam and lifters new timing chain and msd dist 6al edelbrock performer intake 650 holley any ideal y runs like shit and headers glow red???
 
yea smell fuel and ive done tht seem to not get it car aint mine its a freinds and both side but not every tube
 
might be a dumb question but when you installed the timing chain where did you put it at? straight dot to dot? and was the motor at tdc then
 
I had the same problem my car glowed just a couple header pipes. It turned out to be a bad air/fuel ratio and timing. It should be running lean so it's like a torch little bit of fuel and to much air making it hot enough to glow.
 
Performer cam? Timing set at 14 degrees? I had a performer cam in the motor that just came out of my car I ran a stock replacement holley 600 cfm carb I never had glowing headers also did you switche the firing order these are all if it's the se cam.
 
I had to go up from a 600 Holley to a 650 Holley but I had aluminum heads you could try bigger jets in the carb. Sounds like it's starving for gas
 
Could be. May be a vacuum leak on the intake sucking air that it's not supposed to be getting. Or see if you can borrow another carb see if it fixes the problem
