These actually work pretty well. I've used them in a few houses, wired up to a sail switch and they really help balance out rooms which are far from the furnace. Unfortunately my current palace has a boiler, fail.

I got a boiler too but my a/c is up in my attic.. I put these boosters in (which helped) but I put bigger ducts for better airflow.
