... Winter storm warning in effect from 1 am to 4 pm est friday...

The national weather service in detroit/pontiac has issued a winter storm warning for heavy snow... Which is in effect from 1 am to 4 pm est friday. The winter storm watch is no longer in effect.

Snow will spread north into the area after midnight tonight. Conditions are expected to deteriorate quickly as snow becomes heavy at times into friday morning. Widespread snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches are expected by early friday afternoon before snow begins to taper off. Some localized areas may even see snowfall totals approach a foot.

A winter storm warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel... Keep an extra flashlight... Food... And water in your vehicle in case of an emergency

yeah i live in clarkson, i've had snow since thanksgiving...plus i live acrossed the street from pine knob and get snowed on everytime they make there own, which is every dang night. good thing i got a plow truck too!

Doesnt that stuff ruin the concrete? is the pellets stuff? Guy at work had to get his porch, walkway, sidewalk redone, cause it pitted all over the places. chips of concrete breakin off the following spring.

Man, I hope we only get a couple inches. I heard 2-8 inches this morning. Too close to Christmas. It will make loading and unloading gifts from the car a pain in the ass. It also makes for wet door entrances in peoples house, which get socks wet....rrrrrr

Take the smallest amount 6 inches

Divide it by 2 (6/2=3)

Then Subtract 1

3-1=2

That is how the actual amount is calculated
