5 lug swap complete, tire question!

hey guys i just got done with my 5 lug conversion on my mustang and im wondering what tire would be good to run. i have 15x10 inch weldstars with 6.25 backspace and right now they have a 28x10.5 drag slick on them. i was thinking running a 275/60, and was wondering what kind of issues i would have running that, i know i will need a fender roll and probably remove the quad shocks. anything else? i have a stock length rear end.

Is it lowered? I had 275/60s on an 8" wheel on a Stock height Capri without quads and had no rubbing issues, so ya, probably pull the quads and a fender roll would do it.

Probably gone need a serious fender roll, pull quads and clearance to inner wheel well with a BFH.

What's the width of a 275 tire? Cause I've got my car on the ground now with the 28x10.5 slicks, but it is rubbing so much in the rear that the tire doesn't turn, but looks like plenty of room in the front after a fender roll

Go to their site, it should say the width, different brands and even tire models will vary total width considerably, although they "should" all be 275mm wide.

I went on summits website and they are saying a 275/60 Mickey Thompson is equivalent to a 28x11.5 which would be wider then the drag slicks I have on. But under the specs it says "maximum wheel width 9.5" I was assuming they were talking about the rim width...

Nvm just looked again and it says tread width is 9.5. They were recommending a wheel be 9.5 as well. So you think that inch will make a big difference in it rubbing?

What kind of backspace on the rim? And how tall?

285-35-18 they are deep dish cobra r wheels for 94-95 5 lug mustangs. When I did my conversion I just did a axel swap with drums. Not a SN95 swap. My car with those wheels and tires are on my avatar. I have pics of it up somewhere on here.

It will, yes. You also need to know how wide the 10.5 actually is though, they are all different, like I said, the only real way to know is a trial fit. If it helps I can tell you I had no rubbing on my '91 with 275/40/17s on a 9" Cobra wheel, even had quads and untouched lips with a 2"drop.
