5.0 TPS setting

I tried to set my TPS today but I can't get a reading from it. I pierced the green wire with the red probe and grounded the black one. Can't get a reading even when I move the TPS around. Car is still idling at 2000 rpm with the IAC unplugged :crap: Trying to get all the everything set so I can narrow my search down. I tightened down the intake which wasn't torqued properly but that didn't help. All vacuum lines look good too :crap: besides that it runs good lol

TIA
Mike

There is an idle allen head screw that you can turn... I had to do it with my white LX.... I will get some pics of where it is when I get home unless you already tried that...

Yeah I have that turned all the way out and it didn't help at all. I need to start narrowing it down so I'm trying to set the sensors and timing. I torqued down the intake and it does run much better but the idle is crazy high. If I plug the IAC back in it'll idle at 2600 :jawdrop2:

Mike, Did you do a search on how to set the idle? Like we talked about?

Thanks Mitch! Yeah I looked at 2 sites yesterday. Think the distriber is in a tooth or two off because I can't get my 10* base timing with the spout unplugged. Close but not 10 more like 6. I'll be trying again today
