5.0 clutch issues???

well, this afternoon we finally took the notch for a shakedown cruise. without doing any standing slamshots, only rolling on w.o.t. from a roll, the clutch sure seemed like it was slipping a bit. (telltale smoke). it's a new king cobra frpp assembly, freshly turned flywheel, pretty basic 325 or so h.p. combo, 245 nitto dr's. antyody have any thoughts, experiences with these clutches? thanks. jim.
 
how much peddle free play do you have ? Any problesm with motor mounts or transmission mounts ?
 
Is the cable adjustable or is it the stock cable? If the cable is stock, pull the clutch pedal up as far as you can pull it. This will let the self adjuster set up on the pedal to adjust for the trimmed flywheel. You can also push the pedal down and side step the clutch pedal and let the pedal come up with its own force to self adjust.
