I just bought a 418 stroker motor from my brother inlaw that I need to assemble and was wanting to get some suggestions on cam selection and intake/carb set-up I should go with.

SRP dish pistons for 10:1 compression (to keep it streetable, wink wink)

Eagle rotating assembly

Main girdle kit

Aluminum 220cc CNC ported heads, cut 2 degrees

dont know who's blanks they used for heads but they came from a speed shop that used there own CNC programming.

keep in mind that this will be a street car but will be putting NOS on it for playing at the track. Also what kit would I put on this.

Thanks

did I post in the wrong forum? Just looking for some suggestions from people that may know something about these motors.

we would need alot more info to even start to get you in the ballpark for a cam. what intake are you running? how high are you trying to spin the motor? blower/turbo/nos?? vehicle weight? auto or stick? what size rear gear? flow numbers on the heads? what size valves? what size carb and exhaust??

dont plan on hitting the motor with much nitrous with them srp pistons. I would only go 175 200 max on them

intake Victor JR
spin 7500 rpms
150-200 Nos
weight 2950
auto trans
3.73 gear
dont know flow #s, 220 runners
2.05/1.60 valves
exaust is currantly 2.5 Wflowmasters, turndowns with x-pipe, may upgrade to 3 inch if needed
carb currantly is a 750 proform. Any suggestions there would help.
28" tires

building a stroker for the first time and dont know what to expect therefor I look to the wisdom of you guys. Not going to ba a full time srteet car but I do like to take it out to car shows and around town on the weekends.

if your are gonna run at 7500 rpm you should think about upgrading the intake to a super victor along with a 850 dp carb or better. with a 150 200 shot of giggle gas you might be ok with 373 gear. too close too tell. custom headers would be a good idea. a stepped 1 7/8 to 2 inch with a 3 inch exhaust. i would use a hydraulic roller and keep rpm aroung 6800. better street manners and less maintanence.
