4.6 sohc superchargers

I would prefer to have a completely forged bottom end so I can boost the shit out of it.

Then people are telling me I should pull the modular and go with a Big block :dunno:

I'm lost right now as of what I want to do.... I might be saying this next year:ls1:

If Your Running less than 10psi with a good tune You should be good for the life of the car! lol

I boosted my 4v with 160k on itcompletly stock. drove it like I stole it @ 16-18psi for about 20k. Never Blew up either!

:hmm:

:D

I'm now motivated!

I'm new to Mod engines, and I am interested in boosting my 01 GT. I've been looking around (ebay, craigslist) and have seen a lot of 03-04 dohc blowers, and some new 3v superchargers as well. Some are for the 5.4 f150s. Are the lower intakes totally different on the 5.4 from the 4.6? Or the intake ports from dohc to sohc? It would be nice if some of these parts were compatable with each other.

Look over on svtperformance.com their is guys always parting with vortech kits and pretty much any other part you could ever think of for a 2v 3v or 4v engine

His goal is a mid / low 12 second daily driver.

The fastest, easiest, cheapest and reliable way to reach that goal would but to buy a blower. 10-12 lbs on a P.I. 2V and he should be where he wants for probably under 3k.

Although i agree with the 4V comments, as i have one. He doesnt need one to reach his goal.

Huh ? We have had a 4v make 615rwhp through a 4r70w at 12 psi. I have never seen a 2v even get close to the make juice. Granted it was a turbo motor but no way. If the 4v motors are not making power with the KB blower or similar roots blowers it is becuase the cams and the blower are not working together very well.

I am a huge fan of 4V cars, but I have to admit, a built 2V with a KB will put down some NASTY numbers. In fact, the high hp 03-04 Cobra crowd (700+) are still trying to figure out how the 2V cars can make significantly more power than the 4V cars using the same blower no matter how much psi you throw at them.

There seems to be a peak of about 800hp using a twin screw and 03-04 Cobra heads. Yet the 2V guys are making well into the 900's......and I think over 1000 on a couple cars. Blower only in all scenario's (no nitrous).

It is like the 8th wonder of the world or some shit.

Forged bottom end 2v and a KB with some alcohol and be done with it. I know of a 2v with 14#'s and alcohol that makes 620 something. Keep the 2v.

i always watch for a good priced blower for my 2v, but it seems the kits hold their value very well. last year i was watching a complete take off saleen blower kit, i forgot to watch the last day and bid, someone won the kit for $900 :(

That could very well be........and if it is then no one with a 4V and PD blower has figured out the right combo yet, whereas the 2V guys have.

If the 2v's Were worth a Fuk the FORD GT 40 would be Sporting one of those instead...

Nobody wants to Knock their own 2v Car, but once you swallow your pride and admit the 4v is a better all around motor you will be better off.

Id take a 100k mile Stock 4v Motor over a Brand new Forged 2v anyday.

2V's are junk.

Gt supercar cams with a KB would be a big improvement.

I agree but I still don't think you are seeing what I am saying here. Practically every combo out there has been tried by the 03-04 Cobra crowd. All sorts of built engine/heads/cams combo's and NOTHING has achieved much more than 800 to the tires with a positive displacement blower.......and only a handful of people have even seen 800. However there are quite a few 2V cars that have seen well over 800 with a PD blower.......and all the way over 1000 to the tires.

Seems like if you want to make huge power with a 4V.......a turbo is the way to fly. However it sure does take a lot of work to get a turbo car to ET.
