4.6 A/c Compressor needed

Anyone have one in good condition? 98 Crown Vic if it matters, probably doesn't

I have one, it's been sitting in the garage for a few years though, it came off a Mark VIII, I would assume it to be the same but I'm not positive.

Messing with a used one will cause you more trouble than it is worth especially if you want working a/c. I do a/c for a living & it happens everytime with a used compressor.

so are you supposed to change your compressor everytime you take it off?

No. I am going under the assumption that he want his a/c fixed & trying to go the cheapest way possible.

Depends on where he is getting the used one from. Just want to make sure it had come off a working unit & did not sit for any long period of time. When junkyards sell you one it might have sat on the shelf a 6months & during that six months the seal dry rot & when you install it & recharge your system they leak. That is one reason why I do no longer use used ones.
