4.3L mods

looking to do some upgrades to an old jimmy i picked up. would like to put some more power into the motor for pulling stuff. it's a 91, doesn't look like a vortec to me but i could be wrong.

anyone know a board that deals with 4.3's or some popular cams ect?
 
You'll have to look for it, but on Hot Rod Magazines website, there is an article named '3/4 350'. The built a 4.3L with 9.0:1 compression that made 300 HP, and then put a Vortech supercharger from a 350 on the front and made 475 HP (actually made over 500 with just a little more boost and puked the headgasket).
