305-350 Vortec differences?

Truck currently has the 305 vortec in it and it looks like i may be replace it soon. Is there any difference in the injection, wiring, computer that would keep me from being able to put a 350 long block in it?

Will it run at all on the 305 computer? Just not very well? Haha I figured you would be the first person to respond. I might as well of just sent you a pm :lol: So I could use the 305 intake no problem? Sorry for the somewhat redundant questions just wanna be 100% sure.

Yes they all use 19pph injectors so no problems there. It will run just not optimally. The reflash isn;t even a big deal. Send me your vin and find a vin for a 350 truck of the same year and equipment with a 350. $75 to flash it over.

Awesome. I will definitly keep you in mind! Gonna see how long the ole 305 holds together before I end up swappin it. Just started makin a little noise yesterday.
 
How do these things respond to a small cam? Thinking if I'm going to go thru all this work I'm gonna wanna build a motor that can actually tow somehting. Maybe just a real small cam and heaers? Would it need a tune?

It would need some tweaks for sure with a cam.
 
it will need tuning tweaks, but the 350 vortec heads flow pretty good, max lift on stock heads is ~.480 , then you get spring bind, and the retainers fit the guides
