2013 fusion question

My friend got a 13 fusion from an auction. Problem is that the trans is in neutral and the shifter won't come out of park. I'm assuming it was towed with the front wheels on the ground. Is there something the tow companies do when they tow it?

See if the shifter cable is still hooked to the manual lever on the trans, if the trans range sensor and the shifter don't agree, the shifter won't come out of park

Ehh, that should have a 6F35 in it, and those have flat towing lubrication designed into them
