From one of my buddies at Ford...thought I'd pass along for anyone interested in attending.
We are very excited to announce our Annual Ford Product Development Center Employee Truck and Car Show, which will take place on Friday, July 19, 2013 (Rain date: July 26, but we won't need it, right?).
Our theme is “Dream Cars, Pace Cars, and Ultra-Low Volumes”. We intend to show the following in our feature exhibit:
• 1966 Batmobile (Replica of the Barris-transformed 1955 Lincoln Futura Dream Car)
• 1954 Mercury XM-800 Dream Car, predictor for the highly-styled, new 1955 Mercury
• 1957 Mercury Indy Pace Car
• 1961 Ford Thunderbird Indy Pace Car
• 1964-1/2 Ford Mustang Indy Pace Car
• 1979 Ford Mustang Indy Pace Car
• 1994 Ford Mustang Cobra Indy Pace Car
• 1956 Continental Mark II Convertible – one of two ever produced
• Two other anticipated Ford-built low-volume theme cars (TBD)
• Our special, non-Ford-built Feature Car: 1948 Tucker Torpedo – one of 47 completed
Of course, we will have our raffle and our usual amenities, such as the calendar, barbeque lunch, and live music, along with 400 other vehicles.
We plan to add a permanent Wagons exhibit (in response to the enthusiastic reception of the wagon-themed show last year) to the exhibit list, which includes Trucks, Pre-War All-Makes, Postwar Fords, Postwar GMs, Postwar Chryslers/AMCs/Independents, Imports, Mustangs/Cougars, Alternative Fuel Vehicles, Military Vehicles, Tractors, and Motorcycles (and any other “vehicles” which do not fit in these categories!).
