2010 sho HEAT/AC ISSUE

Hey guys, I have a 2010 SHO that I gave to my dad. It has a livernois tune and CAI. Last week, while taking the car for some tires, I noticed at idle in drive or park with the heat on high, the heat would blow cool if the rmps were not up. As soon as you drive or raise the rpms, the air would get hot again. I changed it over to AC, same issue. Blows cool at idle or ice cold driving or reving.

Any ideas??

Thermostat?


My parents are going thru a very tought time right now, so I will have to pay this out of pocket as car is no out of the 3/36

Low coolant would probably cause the heat issue but the a/c.. :dontknow:

Topped off collant last night, no help

Wonder if it could be something strange in the tune and I just never paid any attention to it?

The tune writes to the pcm, the bcm would be in charge of the hvac system..

Based on interweb searching, sounds like there could be air in the cooling system:

^^a guy in that thread said he had his heater core backflushed and it fixed the issue. I'd try and "burp" the system, to see where you're at.

Sounds like a plugged heater core for the heat. That usually doesn't happen on cars that new though. Something you would find on a 98 Camaro that sat in a field for a couple years with Dexcool.

Thanks everyone. Ill see what I can find out. Just talked to the owners son of a local dealer, he could not find a TSB on it, only for the FLEX/MKT...

I've got a 10 Sho and have followed this issue on the many forums. It sounds identical to some of those linked already. Car was low on coolant, needs to be filled, then burped. Supposedly the level is very sensitive, a tad low and it acts up. Drive it a while to burp it, get it warmed up.
