Oh and as far as the auto tranny goes, I play with throttle pressure to force the tranny to shift when I want. Trying to shift gears on the column has proven to be more distracting than benefitial. I do however turn overdrive off. If I really feel like hammering on the truck I will turn it back on down the long straights. The auto does actually have a few advantages though: 1. You never miss a shift 2. Left foot braking and trail braking are easier because your left foot doesn't have anything else to do anyways.
