The 2009 3 Balls Racing schedule is coming together. The following events are already booked, and I am working on more.

Saturday, April 25th at Gingerman in South Haven, MI.

Saturday, May 9th at Grattan in Belding, MI.

Friday, June 12th at Waterford Hills in Clarkston, MI.

Saturday and Sunday, August 29th and 30th at Calabogie near Ottawa, Canada. This track is worth the drive if you want to go to a top tier road course. I had several people drive up with me last year, and they have already said they are going again.

Saturday, October 17th at Gingerman in South Haven, MI.

All the events in Michigan cost $165. However, if you register and sign up early, the cost drops to $150. This includes lunch and drinks throughout the day. The cost for the Calabogie event is yet to be determined, but expect the cost to be about $240/day.

We were also talking about getting a Motown group together for one of these events in a separate thread. I am open to hosting this group at any of these track days. I will offer a percentage discount equal to the number of Motown members that participate (ie. 10 people means a 10% discount). So, if 10 people sign up and pay before the early registration deadline, the price will be $135. You can't beat that with a stick.

We run with four groups separated by driver skill and vehicle potential. Beginners are encouraged to join us. Instructors are available and there is a classroom session in the morning for beginners.

There are a lot of good people at our events, and I think you guys will enjoy coming out. Even if you don't have a car ready to run come on out and see what the road course is all about.

To register and sign up, please visit 3ballsracing.com. If you have questions, please let me know.

Thanks
Ken

so if we get 10 trucks for one of the above dates we can have the 'truck' group?

I have a few SilveradoSS guys interested but need the dates to give them.

thanks

I typically have 12-15 vehicles in a group, so I will need at the very least 12 trucks to form a group. I will work with you truck guys to get something setup, but I need to know ahead of time. The first event is still 80 days away, so you have some time.

I had asked in the PM but it sounds like you just answered it here, we could get a truck group at any event, even if it wasn't necessarily the event picked by Motown?

For the truck guys, can we pick one of the two Saturdays to focus on trying to get enough trucks for? Either one works for me, I just think we should focus on one to try to hit the number. I would take a Friday off for a track day, it's just that that Friday is during Power Tour. So if we can't get it done for one of those two maybe we could still get it figured out for a future event that hasn't been scheduled yet.

And heck, if we can get it together once it might help in getting the deal set up again in the future. It's a lot of fun, I'm sure guys that come out will want to do it again and seeing others do it should encourage more to want to give it a shot.

If you guys can get a truck group together, no matter which event, I will let you run. The discount will be for Motown members only for now though.

hmmm... so we just need 100 people to sign up and we will be golden!!!

Another truck

Depending on which weekend you all come up with I can probably make it. I would prefer the Grattan weekend but Gingerman would be alright also.

2003 Lightning...

Are vans allowed in the truck group?

Only ones that were down by a river.

Scariest ride of my life.

Can't wait til race season. I am signed up for them all.

I will try to make whichever one motown decides to invade. Both Grattan and Gingerman have had some improvements since i've been there so I'll be excited to get back to either!

I'll try to make it out to observe for at least one event, don't have anything to run yet.

Lots of people will be happy to take you out for some hot laps if you're so inclined. Get a ride with Ken Smith if you want to find religion.

My thread on NLOC has 12 VIEWS, and I account for two of them. Sweet. Still can't register at the Michigan Lightning site, I even tried a different e-mail and the confirmation e-mail never comes to complete registration.

I'll go make a post over there just to add to the number for you. I didn't know there was a Michigan site, I'll have to try and make an account myself.

EDIT: Just to whore myself out
Video on track at Grattan with the Detroit Alfa Romeo club

On track at Gingerman, can't remember which club for sure, either SCMC, SVTOA or a test and tune night.
