It means the transmission has malfunctioned in some form, and the vehicles computer picked up the error and stored a error code in its memory. You will need a can tool or code reader to retrieve the code. write down the code # before erasing it. Maybe will lead to something simple like a bad sensor, or indicating something more serious like overheating or slippage. Do not take any long drives till you figure it out.
