There's a "clunk" when the clutch is released from the rear end? what am I checking for? car only has 22K miles on it?

If I release the clutch without trying to absolute baby it, there's a noise.

Stock IRS, stock DS, stock gears.........

try the "U" joint in rear.............try the axle shaft joints as well.

The termi pig is also mounted to a bracked that mounts to the chassis, this bracket i beleve is part of the pig cover, but i bet there is a rubber mount there that might be cracked.... Thats where i would check first..

Those Termi stock IRS's take a real pounding..........i broke mine before it had 5K on the clock pulling a hole shot at milan......

The clunk is the rear differential bushing. There are two rubber ones in the front and one in the rear. Buy the polyurethane kit from www.maximummotorsports.com It comes 3 bushings, and the removal tool for $49.95 + shipping. If you plan on road racing, you need the delrin bushings though, because the poly ones will melt. Poly is good for the street and the drag strip.

Also, grab a diff brace for aboug $150 bucks. They keep the rear diff cover from exploding.

Billetflow has them on backorder right now just to let you know. Steedas are more of a PITA to install, because they use one more bolt hole on the cover than Billetflow and it's the one up top.

Haven't gotten under it to check it out yet.

14mm on the two dog ears at the front of the IRS? I put an IRS brace on my 99, not too big of a job.
