2003 Jeep Liberty, cranks, fires, but dies immediately...

My brother has a 2003 Jeep Liberty with the V6 engine in it. It sat for about 3 days and when it was parked it ran fine. Today, he went out to start it, and it will crank, you'll hear it fire for a second, then it'll immediately die and you'll hear the starter making noise like if you turn the key when the engine's already running. Battery is running a little low from trying to crank it a bunch, but we threw the charger on it and it cranks faster but still does the same thing. All the fuses are fine, and you can hear the fuel pump priming. Air filter is fine. Not sure what else that can be easily looked at before it gets taken to the mechanic in the morning, he needs this fixed as soon as possible. Any suggestions?

did the battery die while it was sitting? if so, could of lost memory and thats the reason for not firing... get a good charge on it, crank it with the pedal to the floor and see what happens.

im assuming it has fuel in it right?
