*SOLD*

I have decided to sell my 2001 Lefthander car. I am going left turn racing on a weekly basis again. Actually 2 days a week....

I have converted the front suspension, including changing the rack, for roadracing. I sent the power steering rack to Appleton to have them completely go thru it and lengthen the right side. I've also taken care of the bumpsteer and it is within .020.

Wet weight, without the driver, the car is 2700 pounds, full of fuel ready to go. I haven't removed all of the added weight yet, which I estimate to be around 150 pounds which would bring the wet weight to 2550.

The Transmission is a Richmond Super T-10 with the "W" ratio. That is 2.64 - 1st gear, 1.75 - 2nd gear, 1.34 - 3rd gear and a 1:1 for 4th gear.

Port City Hubs with Wilwood Integra 6R Calipers and floating rotors. Each caliper is about $1500 new. They are the best calipers you can currently buy.

Winters quick change rear end with external pump and cooler. There are also inline blowers for the front brakes.

It has a fuel injected LS1 racing engine in it that was recently freshened by Lingenfelter with approx 460 HP. It has an ASA drysump oiling system.

The clutch is a triple disc 7-1/4" Quartermaster, low ground clearance with reverse mounted starter clutch system. I put new floaters, flywheel and plates in at the beginning of this summer.

Penske rebound adjustable 7500 series revalveable shocks.

I also have an 11 gallon dump can for the dry-break fuel filler system. I also bought a bunch of spare 5 Star Flange Fit ASA body parts for the car, but they ended being the wrong year, I guess. I have almost a complete body except for the roof. I will also include those parts with the car. They are brand new, but appear to have been just test mounted. There are R&L Doors, R&L Quarters, Hood, 3 fenders and rockers.

4 additional gearsets for the quickchange and an extra Howe RH Spindle that is brand new.

The car is absolutely complete and you can race it the day you get it. I have been racing all of my life and I know what is out there. This car is virtually brand new. You will not find a better, more complete car for the money.

We have had it out at several open track events already, including 2 at Waterford.

I can give you references from several people I have let drive this car, this year, plus many more who have seen it at the track. You will not find a more reliable car than this one. Just hop in and drive...

I have many pictures of the car and can answer any questions regarding it. I did all of the conversion work myself on this car. I can help with any aspect of the car, for someone just starting out. I will be happy to scale and set the car up for the new owner at any time. I have complete confidence in this car.

I am asking $18,500 complete, ready to race.

I would really like to sell this to someone local than to let it go on Ebay. I am more than happy to help with any questions regarding set-up, maintenance etc..

This car also has an on-board halon system, ducting and blowers to keep the front brakes cool. You will not be able to make these 6 piston Wilwood brakes fade, under any circumstance or any condition, no matter how hard you brake. The hotter these get, the better they work. The brake pads are almost new and only have one session on them. The car was driven by me and I am pretty slow and didn't use much brake, so you can say they are still new.

The seat and seat-belts are all current. The cage has been certified by the ASA Santioning body and this car has been certified to race at the fastest 1.5 and 2 mile NASCAR tracks, like Atlanta, Charlotte and Michigan.

I have the gearing so you can go 175+ MPH and will go that fast at Mid-Ohio and should be able to go nearly that fast at Grattan, if you are a good enough driver.

I will throw in a brand new $5000 4 speed clutchless road racing transmission, with built in cooling pump for $2,500 additional. Clutchless means just that. You don't need the clutch to upshift OR downshift. Yes, you can downshift going into the corners without using the clutch at all, or heel and toeing the car. You can left foot brake all of the time. I bought this transmission less than a year ago from GForce South in North Carolina. They build 90% of the transmissions for the NASCAR Teams. It can be rebuilt locally or any gear ratio installed.

I will take 3 equal payments and store the car in my heated garage until June, if you'd like. You won't find a better, faster car, or deal anywhere.

What class is the car legal for competition? Any track times from Waterford or Gingerman?

Ronnie Hawley was the previous owner of the car. This was originally built for ASA. ASA went bankrupt 2 years ago, but is now resurrected with a different style of car. This car raced at Charlotte for the last race that the original ASA sanctioning body ran, before going under. There were extra bars added by Lefthander.

It is a full tube chassis car. Here is a similar chassis.

The class this car would run in is the SCCA or NASA Open Class because it has a dry-sump oiling system and tube chassis. It will pass any safety inspection for any sanctioning body. It has an ASA Serial Number tag welded onto the chassis.

The car has been out to Waterford, Gingerman and Grattan. We never really got any times, since they were just open track days and there wasn't any timing equipment. Someone from the Shelby Club said my brother turned a 1:14 something. The car is capable of turning much faster times, since that was his first time out there in 10 years. I can say that it was in the "A" class every time it was out and the car was never passed once all year........

I have owned this type of a race car since the 70's and am very familiar with changing set-ups to make the car do what you want....

I hope this helps......Gary
