2000 Jimmy Starting Problem

OK this is starting to happen more and more lately. When I turn the ignition key nothing happens but a faint click. The click is not from the starter more like a relay. Sometimes I have to turn the key 3-4 times before the truck starts or sometimes if you hold the key to the start position for a few seconds it finally kicks in and starts the truck. I'm thinking a bad ignition switch but wanted to get some conformation before I changed it.
