1999 Taurus hot start issue

Got my dad's 99 3.0 Taurus.
It's been well maintained just 4-6k since fresh plugs, filters, etc.

Cold starts-runs great, warms up well, zero drivability issues.

Twice in the last 2 days weve had a no start hot condition.
Both times letting the car sit 10 to 30 minutes fixed it, fired right up.

I'm going to start by testing the engine coolant sensor and looking for a potential bad ground. Trying to get my hands on a scanner to check for codes.
Can anyone provide any other leads or experience?

Thanks
Kevin
