1999 Ford Escort 4 door
145k miles. 2.0 SOHC, auto transmission, power windows and power locks, remote start, door locks and trunk popper. Oil changes were done
every 3k during my ownership, mobil 1 oil, ford motorcraft filter. The previous 2 owners who I knew had also kept up on the oil changes.
My commute is 90% highway and I average around 30-32mpg most of the time.. I do not try to milk it either. I usually go 70-73mph, which
brings the average down.
New parts within the last year:
Head was reconditioned/serviced by gregs cylinder heads because it dropped a valve seat.
Timing belt (preventative recommended maint. by ford)
Timing belt tensioner (preventative recommended maint. by ford)
water pump (preventative recommended maint. by ford)
Serpentine belt
Flexplate was replaced
Ball joints
Rear struts, springs, and mounts (RH mount is making a little noise now though)
New front brake pads
New catalytic converter and pipe assembly
new mid/flex pipe, new muffler (so the ENTIRE exhaust is new!)
new rear oxygen sensor
new front brake calipers
new front brake hoses
new front brake rotors
new front tires
new power steering pump and pressure line
new belt tensioner
New rear wheel cylinders
new rear brake shoes
new rear brake adjuster hardware
new outer tie rod ends and alignment
new spark plugs
new spark plug wires
new front and rear lower motor mounts
The bad:
A little bit of rust and a few dents
both mirrors are a little loose from being impacted in a car wash
The drivers door lock operates slowly sometimes, the pass rear door lock is not functioning (needs new actuator)
The headliner is coming down in the back a little bit near the back glass
Ac is not kicking on, but I did have the charge checked and it is good.
$1300 is my bottom dollar.
