1998 jimmy electrical issues

I got a 98 Jimmy just had the engine and trans out of the truck. Got it all back together and run it for a hour during this time i shut it off and started it again a couple times.

I Take it for a ride all is good bring it back shut it off and go to start a minute later to to move it and the gas and temp guages no longer work and the low fuel and battery lights are on.

no blown fuses or loose grounds from what i can see. Anyone have any ideas?

Could the guage cluster gone bad? if i get a cluster from a junkyard will the odometer be affected or it it stored in the computer?
 
The Cluster grounds to the back of either the passnger of driver cylinder heads up against the firewall.


Also check the grounding terminals at the thermostat housing.
