looking at purchasing a vortech 454 out of a 1998 chevy suburban.
Couple of questions:
do these blocks have 4 bolt mains?
do these long blocks have forged cranks, and rods?
what major difference do these engines have from bbc of earlier gen. any different dimensions, bastard bolts, stuff of that nature
my goals for the motor are mild 480 to 500 hp pump gas. heads, pistons, cam,
i don't want to commit to engine that requires hard to find parts or as little background for performance parts.
The reason im going with a big block despite its cost, the truck its going into is a ss454 from 1990.
