1995 OptiSpark Problem?

Ok so I got a 1995 Z28 Camaro and im now at 143k Miles and i think my optispark might be going on me. Any one here have experience with the signs that come with a failing optispark?

Oh yeah im new to the forums kind of a stupid first thread buy hey.

Well i just bought a 95 Caprice and i'm having some opti problems myself. It comes with owning an LT1 i'm told :lol:

Anyway... what are the symptoms? From what i've read around the internet a lot of times the problem is as simple as a cap/rotor change. Others its the optic eye in the opti that gets jammed up with crud. As you probably already know its pain in the ass to diagnose and time consuming to fix.
 
if memory serves the symptoms are unsteady idle, random misfires, both at idle and under load. normal diagnosis usually involves a spark tester or timing light. watching to see if you're getting steady flashes off each plug wire. inconsistent flashes usually means a bad trigger in the distributor.
