1995 Mustang wheel/tire fitment questions...

I've searched around the Mustang forums on this topic for a few days and I'm finding a lot of conflicting information...

I'm about to buy a set of black fr500's for my new Rio Red 95 GT, 17x9 in the front and 17x10.5 deep dish in the back. I'm going to go with a 255/40/17 Nitto on the front and a 315/35/17 Nitto in the back.

The backspacing on the rears is 6.84" and the offset is +27mm. From what I've read this is the important information, I just don't know much about it.
I do know the Nitto's run a bit more narrow than say a BFG tire does which will help me out with clearance, but I still have concerns as I've never run a 315 on my cars before.

I have factory upper/lower control arms right now so I'd like to retain the quad shocks, but flipping them is no problem. I just don't want to get into rolling the quarter panel lip. Creating a little clearance on the inner fender well doesn't necessarily bother me, but I've heard some people claim they didn't even need to do that, others say they did. I'd like to avoid that if possible. The car is lowered 1.5" with BBK springs as well.

Any advice, info and guidance will be greatly appreciated before I pull the trigger and order these wheels.

Thanks everyone.
