1993 F-150 I-6 missing and bucking and 1/2 throttle ODB1 Videos?

I have had this happen once before the last 2 weeks but it seems to keep coming back. It doesn't seem to matter if it is cold or warm and there is no real consistency in when it happens. At 1/4 throttle it runs fine I don't get any sputtering or missfiring. And at full throttle it seems to just over power whatever is going on. At 1/2 throttle everything just shakes. It feels like it is running on 2 cylinders. No power. Also today I thought I smelled gas after this happened like it was flooded? I was going to change the plugs and wires but I doubt that is what it is. The truck has 86000 miles on it if that helps. I shot a few videos today so I think you can hear it. Please tell me what to check?

ODB1 Codes? I can't Read it worth shit! The blips are the check engine light blips.

sounds like it might be detonating(spark knock), check your ignition timing. May of gotten some bad gas

unplug and cap the vaccum line to the EGR valve andunplug the connector on the valve as well.

BTW thats code 31.

EGR Control circut Not Reading Open or similar.

Basically it means that the ECM comanded the valve on but did not see it open. Most likely a fialed EGR position sensor or electrical problem.

It is so random. Sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't. So can't I just eliminate the EGR? I don't give a shit about emissions.

Doesn't look to random to me. It does it exactly when the EGR system is typically active. 30+ mph between 1/4 and 2/3 throttle.

Pull the vacum lines and see if it gets better. If so replace the valve and or the EGR position sensor " I think it is all one unit on those truck IIRC". If you wish to delete the EGR it would make the truck non emissions compliant but should not noticeable effect performance in a negative way. It might hurt the Fuel economy though.

No I meant to say it is random when it happens. Sometimes it does 3 days in a row. Then it will not happen for a few weeks. Then its back!! The valve is over $100 I think I will test it 1st. Any idea where it is? I have not looked yet.

Been a long time since I worked on a I6 truck. I think it is on or near the throttlebody assembly.
